Media fear cycles post-9/11, conditioning Americans to accept surveillance and endless war in exchange for “security.” Dr. Michael Parenti, political scientist and author of Inventing Reality, said it plainly:“The mass media are not just gatekeepers. They are the manufacturers of consent. They don’t report reality.
