Father Consumerism
A Letter to the World: From the Father of Consumerism
To the People of the World,
I come to you today, not just as the creator of consumerism, but as someone who’s deeply sorry. I helped build a system that told you happiness came in the form of stuff—newer, shinier, more stuff. But here’s the truth, and you might want to sit down for this: we were wrong.
We didn’t set out to trick you. In the beginning, we believed that more things meant better lives. But somewhere along the way, we learned how to manipulate your feelings. Advertising wasn’t about showing you what was available anymore—it became about making you want things you didn’t even need. We sold you a fantasy, and you bought into it. Literally.
By 2021, the world had spent $62 trillion on stuff. That’s right, $62 TRILLION—on phones, clothes, cars, gadgets. To put it simply: you bought so much stuff that you could stack it up and almost reach Mars. But what if I told you that with just half of that money, $31 trillion, we could have:
• Built homes for every homeless person for the next 1,500 years.
• Ended world hunger 94 times over.
• Educated every child on Earth, ensuring no one was left behind.
Instead, we created closets filled with things you don’t wear, drawers stuffed with gadgets you don’t use, and landfills overflowing with our waste. Yeah, it’s pretty wild when you think about it.
We convinced you that having more would make you happier, cooler, more successful. But let’s be real—did that next phone upgrade really change your life? Nah, fam. The new stuff gave you a little hit of excitement, and then—poof—it was gone, and you were left wanting more. And that’s how we kept you hooked.
So, What’s the Move?
It’s time for a change. I’m asking for your forgiveness—and your help. We can still build something better.
Let me introduce you to The Goods Virtual World, a place where we can show you what life could look like if we stopped chasing more stuff and started investing in what truly matters. You’ll get to experience, firsthand, a world where:
• Every family has a home, not just more gadgets.
• No one goes hungry, because we spent our money on solutions, not stuff.
• People live with less, but their lives are richer—filled with connection, purpose, and joy.
This isn’t some fairy tale. The Goods Virtual World is real, and we need your help to make it come to life.
How You Can Help
1. Repost this message. Share it with your friends, family, and followers. Let’s start the conversation about breaking free from the cycle of always needing more.
2. Invest in The Goods Virtual World. Help us build a virtual space where we can all learn how to spend our time, energy, and money on things that actually make the world a better place.
One Last Thing…
Here’s the kicker: you were never incomplete. You didn’t need the latest phone, the coolest shoes, or the biggest TV to be enough. We lied to you—and I’m sorry for that. But here’s the good news: you’re already enough, just as you are. For real.
So, here’s a thought: what if we spent even half of that $62 trillion on solutions instead of stuff? Imagine the kind of world we could build. A world where we help each other out instead of keeping up with the latest trends. We could heal the planet, take care of each other, and create a future worth living in. Sounds kinda fire, right?
The Time is Now
So, let’s do this. It’s time to break the cycle. Let’s build a world where enough is enough, and we focus on what really matters—each other.
Sincerely,
The Father of Consumerism
Now, gather the family, sit down together, and really think about what this means for all of us. Whether you’re 9 or 99, we’ve all been caught in this cycle of buying more, wanting more, and thinking it would make us happy. Let’s be the ones to change that—for ourselves and for the future.
